Jeremy Guarnoni wins in threes

Jeremy Guarnoni (MRS Yamaha) was a worthy champion in the Superstock 600 Championship, having won more races than anyone else (five) and taking a total of eight podiums.

The 17-year-old rider from Toulouse in France is actually a very experienced rider in this class, having raced in the category since 2008, when he first rode for the ASPI team, on a Yamaha. He has made 30 starts already.

Podiums first arrived the year later when he was racing for the Morillas team, again on Yamahas, but this year Guarnoni pushed hard all the way, making starts from the front row nine times, and leading the series from the first round until the very last. The championship was a great fight between Guarnoni and his fellow Frenchman Florian Marino, with the final margin of advantage being 28 points.

Guarnoni stated, "I'm very happy because I waited three years to win this title. The bike was really good, I work really well with Adrien Morillas to set up the bike and the whole team and Yamaha have worked really hard to get me here."

Good start for Jeremy Guarnoni

Jeremy Guarnoni (MRS Racing Yamaha) dipped under the 1'45 barrier at Magny-Cours to take provisional pole, his 1'44.979 second lap enough to keep another French rider Stephane Egea (Team ASPI Yamaha) second. Davide Fanelli (All Service System by QDP) was a close third.

Romain Lanusse (MRS Racing Yamaha) completed the Friday top four, with three French riders in the top few places. Berardino Lombardi (Martini Corse Yamaha) and Josh Elliot (Kawasaki Racedays Kawasaki) were top six runners also.

Jeremy Guarnoni takes another win for Yamaha in STK600

Jeremy Guarnoni (MRS Racing) took a further step forward towards the championship title today in Germany after he earned yet another victory, his fifth of the year. The Frenchman now sits on 177 points compared to his countryman Florian Marino's 134, a gap of 43 points.

Tony Covena (Econocom) was second, Romain Lanusse (MRS Racing) was third and Berardino Lombardi (Martini Corse Yamaha) fourth. Lombardi sits third in the championship on 83 points. Pole winner Marc Moser (Sport-Evolution Triumph) was fifth in the race at his home circuit. Marino (Ten Kate Junior Honda) was only eighth today, while front-row youngster Josh Elliott (Racedays Kawasaki) was penalized with a ride-through.
