Jorge Lorenzo: I want to win at Laguna Seca.. some day!

Jorge Lorenzo has hinted he will be merely looking to consolidate his lead in the MotoGP standings when the series visits Laguna Seca for the United States Grand Prix, even if he admits it is a race he wants to win 'some day'.

Lorenzo has been a model of consistency so far this season, winning five races and finishing no lower than second in the other three.

Indeed, while he was forced to play second-best to closest rival Dani Pedrosa last time out in Germany, Lorenzo retains a substantial 47 point advantage overall, a lead he wants to maintain in the United States.

Even so, winning at the historic Laguna Seca circuit remains a 'goal' that Lorenzo has earmarked for himself at some stage in his career.

"This is the first time this season that we've left Europe and I'm excited to be going to Laguna Seca again, one of the most famous tracks in the world," the FIAT Yamaha rider said.

"I like riding there and one of my aims is to win there, some day! I have had some crashes there but last year I also took the pole and made it onto the podium. We come from a second place in Sachsenring and our target remains the same, to be consistent and to always aim for the podium.

In the meantime, Lorenzo will indulge in a few 'off-track' duties, including visiting the headquarters of Twitter, the Spaniard having become a prolific user of the social networking site.

“Before the race we will go to see Jay Leno and also I will hopefully visit the headquarters of Twitter in LA."
