Joan Lascorz goes out injured from WSS race

Third place qualifier for the World Supersport race Joan Lascorz (Kawasaki Motocard.com) was involved in a first lap accident at Silverstone after he and another rider touched exiting turn one, and Joan fell. A following rider could not avoid Joan and he took the full brunt of a heavy impact from the other rider's front wheel. The accident meant a complete restart of the race, still over 16 laps.

After being admitted to hospital Joan was diagnosed with four broken ribs, an injury to his shoulder, a finger injury and some blood inside his lung. The other rider, Roberto Tamburini had a broken left collarbone. Joan is being kept in hospital in England for around a week and although it is too early to predict how fast his recovery will be, it is expected to take some weeks.
