With Aprilia piling its resources into helping Biaggi secure the 2010 title, Camier says he will get the same treatment in 2011.
Leon Camier says he is confident he will receive an equal opportunity to challenge for the World Superbike title in 2011 should he be retained by Aprilia.
Camier has shown impressive form in his first season of WSBK racing, the record-breaking British Superbike champion shrugging off a lack of experience around much of the calendar to have already secured three podiums this season.
Currently eighth in the overall standings, with Aprilia expressing its pleasure working with the 24-year-old, it is highly anticipated that Camier will be retained to work alongside Max Biaggi in an unchanged line-up next year.
While Camier accepts that Aprilia is focusing its efforts to ensure Biaggi wins the title this season, as evidenced by the team orders that forced him to drop behind his team-mate at Silverstone, he believes he will get fair treatment in 2011.
“Absolutely,” he told Crash.net when asked whether he thought he would get equal opportunities in 2011. “We have had conversations already and things will be a lot more equal for next year, which is a really good thing. Hopefully if it all comes off and we're together next year then we can be a fair bit stronger.”
While his deal with Aprilia hasn't quite been sealed, with rumours suggesting the team will look to secure its riders during the summer break, Camier adds he isn't keen to 'jumping around too much' if he can avoid it.
“There's been a lot of talk and there has been other interest, but I want to keep it steady and not jump around too much. If everything stays together then great, but if not there is interest from other options as well.”
