Dani Pedrosa fastest in warm up

The pole holder was the quickest round the Misano track ahead of this afternoon’s Gran Premio Aperol di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini.

Dani Pedrosa pipped Jorge Lorenzo to the top time in warm up at Misano on Sunday morning, as the Repsol Honda rider underlined his strength going into this afternoon’s race. A final lap of the session of 1’34.654 left Pedrosa 0.149s clear of his rival.

The Fiat Yamaha rider was second ahead of Andrea Dovizioso (Repsol Honda), with Valentino Rossi (Fiat Yamaha) and Casey Stoner (Ducati Team) completing the top five. Randy de Puniet (LCR Honda) was sixth as he continued his courageous weekend’s work with his leg still recovering, and he will start from the same position on the grid.

Marco Melandri (San Carlo Honda Gresini) had a crash towards the end when he slid out, and the Italian walked away unharmed from the fall. This afternoon’s MotoGP race is due to get underway at 2pm local time.
