Scott Redding is determined to pick up where he left off as he returns to Moto2 action for the inaugural Aragon Grand Prix, two weeks after Shoya Tomizawa's tragic death.
The young Briton was involved in the accident that claimed the life of the 19-year-old, but despite suffering injuries himself – one that necessitated stitches in his back -, he will return to the saddle for Aragon.
With the stitches now removed, Redding was satisfied with his condition during a test at Valencia and is now keen to resume the form that has seen him emerge a front runner in recent races.
"It was good to get back on the bike today at Valencia,” the Marc VDS rider said. “It took a few laps for me to get back the feeling for the bike and the tyres, but I was pretty much on it by the end of the day. I had the stitches out of my back this morning just before the test and, apart from a bit of rubbing from my back protector, everything felt fine.
“I'm looking forward to this weekend's race at Aragon. The track is pretty special with a little bit of everything; fast corners, slow corners and a couple of long straights.
“We had a hard weekend at Misano two weeks ago, as did the whole Grand Prix paddock, but I want to bounce back this weekend with another good result."
Redding scored his first Moto2 podium at Indianapolis last month and qualified on the front row last time out at Misano.
