Alex De Angelis continues Sepang pace

The JiR Moto2 rider was once more the fastest rider in practice as he topped the second session ahead of Simón, Corsi and Elías.

Alex de Angelis repeated his form from day one at the Shell Advance Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix by topping the timesheet in the second and final practice before qualifying on Saturday. The JiR Moto2 rider's best time of 2'08.888 left him 0.102s clear of second placed Julián Simón (Mapfre Aspar).

Following the Spaniard on the timesheet was De Angelis' JiR Moto2 team-mate Simone Corsi, with Championship leader Toni Elías (Gresini Racing) fourth at just over half a second off the top time as much better conditions than Friday permitted the riders to make the most of the full session.

Swiss pair Thomas Lüthi (Interwetten Moriwaki Racing) and Dominique Aegerter (Technomag-CIP), Scott Redding (Marc VDS Racing Team) and Alex Debón (Aeroport de CastellÛ-Ajo) completed the top eight, with Héctor Faubel (Marc VDS Racing Team) ninth and Andrea Iannone (Fimmco Speed Up) tenth.

There were crashes in the session for Ferruccio Lamborghini (Matteoni Racing), Faubel, Karel Abraham (Cardion ab Motoracing), Kazuki Watanabe (Racing Team Germany) and Hiromichi Kunikawa (Bimota – M Racing).
