Leon Camier ready for competitive return

Having made a full recovery from injury, Leon Camier will test for Aprilia Alitalia at Motorland Aragon this week.

Leon Camier will ride the Aprilia RSV-4 in anger for the first time this week since injuring himself towards the end of the 2010 World Superbike season with a test outing at Motorland Aragon.

Aprilia are one of several teams travelling to the Spanish circuit to get acquainted with the layout before the venue is included on the 2011 WSBK calendar, with Camier joining new champion Max Biaggi for the first time since injuring his wristat the Nurburgring.

Forced to miss the final three rounds as he underwent surgery, Camier says he is fully recovered from the injury and looking forward to making preparations for what will be his second season in the top flight.

"My wrist is pretty good now and I am all ready to go testing at Aragon," he said. "I have no more medical checks to do, and have been having a lot of physio on my wrist, trying to get more movement in it.

“I need to get back on a bike to push it as far as I can; it is difficult to do any training to replicate that kind of use. The first test for us is not about trying any new things, and the bikes will be the same. It is about learning the new circuit, and seeing how my wrist is."
