Fourth position qualifier Max Biaggi is just a seventh place finish away from securing the manufacturers' title for Aprilia.
Biaggi closes on title for ApriliaMax Biaggi put himself in a good position to secure the 2010 World Superbike manufacturers' title for Aprilia at Magny-Cours after qualifying in fourth.
Having secured himself the riders' title at Imola a week ago, Biaggi is now concentrating on making it a clean sweep for his Aprilia team in France, a task made slightly trickier by the absence of team-mate Leon Camier.
Nonetheless, Aprilia's 41 point gap over Ducati means victory is almost a foregone conclusion, Biaggi needing to finish just seventh in one of the races to make sure the Italian company wins its first manufacturers' crown.
"Compared to last weekend at Imola, things began decisively better here,” he said. “We're fast, we are working well and if we can shave off just a little more I will have an excellent chance at staying up front and battling with the best riders.
“Unfortunately I'm still not at 100% physically. The races are long and they could prove to be tiring for me. I really want to give my best. After the rider championship it would only be right to close out the season earning the manufacturer title as well."
