Max Biaggi still to confirm 2011 WSBK plans

Max Biaggi still to confirm 2011 WSBK plans

Rumours of retirement are aurfacing as the Italian gets set to welcome a second child in the coming weeks.

It is still not certain whether newly crowned World Superbike Champion Max Biaggi will return to defend his title in 2011 as he continues to stall over a new deal with Aprilia.

The Italian, the dominant winner of the 2010 title in only his second season with the Italian manufacturer, has been coy on the subject of 2011, with some reports suggesting he is pushing for new terms in his contract and others claiming he is even considering retirement to spend more time with his growing family.

Indeed, it was widely anticipated that a new deal would be announced during a public celebration at Aprilia's base in Noale, Italy over the weekend, but not such announcement was made.

With testing set to get underway at Motorland Aragon next month, it remains unclear as to whether Biaggi will be present to join Leon Camier, who has already signed for 2011.

Biaggi won the 2010 title by 75 points with ten races wins and not a single failure to finish.
