Loris Capirossi closing on Pramac Ducati deal

Loris Capirossi's manager Carlo Pernat has given a clear indication that his rider will stay on in MotoGP next season, albeit on a satellite Ducati.

It is no secret that Capirossi is looking to exit the Rizla Suzuki team at the end of this season, the Italian dissatisfied with the lack of progress the team has made since he joined at the start of 2008.

Initially linked to Tech 3 Yamaha, it seems more likely that Capirossi – who is the most experienced rider on the grid with 308 grand prix starts – will land on a Ducati once more in 2011, as confirmed by Pernat to GPOne.com.

“What will happen is the contract between Loris Capirossi and Ducati Pramac for next year, and this is a great thing for my career; Loris is happy too,” he said speaking about his own plans having turned 62-year-old.

Capirossi raced for the factory Ducati team in 2007 having managed seven wins over five seasons. He has recorded just a single podium finish during his tenure with Suzuki.
