Cal Crutchlow bids farewell with podium bid

Cal Crutchlow, SuperBike

Britain's Cal Crutchlow (Yamaha Sterilgarda) will be signing off from the Superbike World Championship this weekend with a bid to take the overall third place in this year's series and to notch up his ninth and tenth podiums.

Full-season rookie Crutchlow has been one of the revelations of the 2010 season and at Magny-Cours he will be concluding his short but sweet WSB year before following in Ben Spies' footsteps and moving on to MotoGP. At Imola Crutchlow was again on the podium, in race 2, where once again he proved to have established an excellent feeling with his R1 machine.

"I was disappointed with the first race, I think I had podium pace and was catching up to the guys in front but made an error which dropped me back," said Crutchlow. "The second race was good, I had a bad start then Noriyuki Haga and Carlos Checa and I all had to come from the back which made it interesting. A big thanks to Yamaha who put together a great bike this weekend for me, we were really strong and put in some good laps towards the end of the races and I think we showed what we are capable of."
