The Briton will focus on fitness ahead of his second season with Aprilia in 2011.
Leon Camier has taken the decision not to rush his return to World Superbike race action by withdrawing from the Magny-Cours season finale this weekend.
The Briton skipped the Imola event after undergoing surgery to correct a fractured scaphoid, sustained in an accident during practice at the Nurburgring, but had hoped to make it to the French round.
However, Camier will continue to watch from the sidelines safe in the knowledge that he will continue with the Aprilia Alitalia team into 2011.
“I'm obviously disappointed at not being able to race this weekend but I need to be sensible about the situation. I'd be taking a chance by coming back too early and risking further damage to the bone which could result in a long term problem, and it's really not worth it.
“The team and I have made the decision together and agreed that it's best to wait and focus now on our winter testing schedule.”
Touching on his rookie season, which has seen him score three podium finishes – including a third place finish on home soil at Silverstone -, Camier admits it has been a 'learning curve'.
“It has been a real learning curve for me not only getting to grips with the bike, but also riding the circuits for the first time. I've loved working with the team and full credit to them for winning the Championship with Max. I'm obviously really pleased for both him and the team. I'm already looking forward to next season and can't wait to get back on the bike. I intend to come back stronger than ever in 2011!”
