On the same day that Kawasaki put its new Superbikes under public scrutiny for the first time at Magny-Cours, there was another surprise from the Japanese manufacturer - four production versions of the all-new ZX-10R for the Lorenzini by Leoni and Pedercini Kawasaki teams to evaluate.
The machines, two for each team, were fitted with race mufflers but were otherwise almost completely standard, including suspension set-ups. Kawasaki is obviously taking the Superstock class extremely seriously in 2011, as Pedercini is hoping to field four bikes, and Lorenzini two.
Sheridan Morais has already agreed to run for Lorenzini and was blown away by the new machine, which was unveiled to the public at the Cologne Show in Germany at the same time. He stated, halfway through the second day, "It's really impressive, incredibly fast. Even as a stock bike, on standard suspension, with the road fairings still on it, it has still been really quick. Even after only a couple of sessions in the dry we are not far off the World Superstock times already."
